So many ladies wonder how to pose when coming in for a session. Fear not we have you covered
You do not have to worry about a thing as I will guide you through your whole session
BUT
for you ladies who want to feel prepared and have a little bit of posing knowledge under your belt before coming in
This is the blog for you!
We are going to address some tips and tricks for posing in this blog so you ladies can practice and feel prepared
Posing Tips and Tricks
1) Lean back to give your body shape. Make sure there are bends in your limbs ( especially arms do not keep them straight to support your self)
and are out a bit from your body to create a triangle shape
2) Watch for stiff hands
Hands are often forgotten when posing or at least the part people have no idea what to do with.
Remember action with hands is important. So running through hair, in hair, pulling on shirts, bras or panties
Running up or down your body etc
3) When posing - it does not matter if you are sitting , kneeling etc
Remember to illongate your body
This will give curve to your body and shape head to toe
This will also help arch your back as well as help flatten any areas if you feel need to be flattened such as the belly area and pushes out the chest !
4) When posing be sure limbs are not mirror images of each other.
No limbs are ever exactly in the same position even in daily life
So when posing off set the arms and legs and lets pop that hip a bit!
5) Where do I look?
This is one of the biggest questions I get asked before and during sessions
The main thing i tell ladies is 2 spots to look unless i ask you to bring your eyes to me.
Look toward the light source - in this case its usually my large window at the front of the studio ,
or
looking down, toward the floor or at yourself doing something, such as pulling down a bra strap or at your panties etc
6) Raise your chin up
This will stretch out your neck and avoid any chin issues or insecurities you may have about the chin area
7) When we do standing poses the best thing to do is start by coming up on your tippy toes
This will naturally help your hip pop out and give you the S shape that we love so much for these sessions
Also if you cross the legs at the ankle this will also help pop your hip out
8) For kneeling positions to avoid looking boxy wider your legs and pop yourself up
on your knees more
at this point you can position hands on the bed/ ottoman, your legs, into your hair etc and have your knees and the wide stance to help support your body in the position9) Point your feet.
This is the biggest and really the only thing you need to remember for your session.
When I say point your feet I mean pointing down as in Ballet points.
This makes your body look longer and more elegant
as flat feet do not look proper in these kinds of images!
This concludes a few simple posing tips for you to go over, practice and review before your session
We do send out a guide with all these tips and tricks in them plus more before all sessions including night before tips and tricks and wardrobe tips and tricks
